Denise is a Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Grand Valley State University, her associate degree in Nursing from Grand Rapids Community College, her master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 2005 and her post-master’s certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Cincinnati in 2017.
Denise believes that sometimes life throws us some curveballs and we need a little bit of help to return to our game. She supports a collaborative relationship with clients including a person-centered plan for recovery, focusing on individual strengths, resilience and the ability to recover despite life’s many challenges.
Denise works collaboratively with clients on establishing treatment options and believes in educating clients and their families/supports for the best possible outcomes. She collaborates with a licensed Psychiatrist to diagnose, treat, monitor and manage medication for patients. Denise views treatment as a collaboration and will work alongside patients and their families/supports to create a treatment plan that works for the patient.
